Finger Lakes InstrumentsFinger Lakes Instruments: George Fazekas, Gregory Terence and Charles Sinsofsky (Mega Images) Mega pixel CCD cameras can be used to obtain near photo quality images of the night sky. In this presentation Gregory Terence and Charles Sinsofsky will show some of the images that they have obtained using mega pixel CCD cameras, based on the KAF260 and KAF1300 chips, and talk about their experience using this type of camera. This will be followed by a discussion of the technical aspects of the FLI cameras. George Fazekas is a community college professor in Rochester NY, who has designed and built several mega pixel CCD cameras. Gregory Terence is a desktop publisher and photographer for ITT Automotive in Rochester, NY who has been involved with CCD imaging since 1992. From his Bear Observatory he has taken both planetary and deep sky images with a variety of different cameras. Charles Sinsofsky is an Open-Systems Manager for SSA/Canada, whose interests include astrophotography and deep sky observing. |
