Gregory TerenceGregory Terence (Imaging With Large CCD Chips), is a desk top publisher and photographer for ITT Automotive in Rochester NY who has been involved with CCD imaging since 1992. From his Bear observatory he has taken both planetary and deep sky images with a variety of different cameras. Currently he is using a mega pixel CCD camera based on Kodak's KAF-1300 chip. This camera has enabled him to obtain near photo quality images of the night sky. Gregory, and his friend George Faskas, will discuss the pros and cons of using large chips, optimum pixel size (can anyone agree on this?) and the various chips available today. Large chip technology is the future of astro imaging. Although today's chip costs are often prohibitive, that will change. They will also have at least one working camera with them. Gregory's images and more in-depth information can be found on his web site. |
