Bert Rhebergen (Observing and Sketching Sunspots), is an experienced double star, lunar and solar observer who has made detailed sketches of the sun for the past 10 years. This year Bert was awarded the Chant Medal by the RASC for his many years of systematic and careful solar observations.

Bert will talk about methods that can be used for safe solar observing, what features to look for on the sun's surface, how sunspots move and change over time, and techniques for sketching sunspots. Weather permitting, his talk will be followed by a hands-on demonstration.
