Dave McCarter ("Transit of Venus Panel Discussion", Main Tent, Saturday 2:30 p.m.) is an avid observer and telescope maker. He and his wife, Janice, traveled to the Mediterranean island of Crete to view and photograph the transit of Venus in its entirety under guaranteed clear skies, while enjoying great food, basking on warm beaches, and making new friends. Dave will share his experiences through stories and photographs.
