SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

KIDFEST 2002
This special program is aimed at giving children, and those young at heart, an opportunity to learn about "what's up there". Ken Davy and Susan Engels will conduct the program on Saturday morning in the small tent. Each session will consist of a short presentation followed by crafts to reinforce the concepts learned. The realm of the planets both local and extra solar will be explored at this year's Kidfest.

PLANET EARTH AND EVERY OTHER ONE OUT THERE (Ages 3 - 6)*
Planets from our home planet through the solar system: How big are they? How are they different? How much would you weigh if you were on Jupiter? As always a fun project for the participants.

PLANETS - A DETAILED EXPLORATION OF OUR SOLAR SYSTEM (Ages 7 - 9)*
Our Solar System abounds with an amazing variety of planets. Together we shall look into the variety, sizes and composition. Crafts will follow the talk.

PLANETS BEYOND OUR OWN (Ages 10 & up)**
In the last decade planets have been discovered around other stars. How are these discovered? What are their characteristics? We shall examine some of the most recent findings and compare them to our own Solar System. A project is to be completed after the presentation.
