Gary Stephey, Celestron Canada ("New Developments At Celestron And The C20 Astrograph", Main Tent, Friday 2:30),
is the Director of Sales and Marketing for the new regional office opened in
Barrie in March 2004. He has an extensive background in consumer optics,
having worked in sales and marketing in the industry for the past 20 years.
He is an avid amateur astronomer.
A new era has begun at Celestron, initiated by the purchase of the company
in June 2002 by senior management from the Tasco Corporation, and by
expanding distribution channels and product offerings to better serve their
customers. In this presentation, Gary will give us a behind-the-scenes look
at some of the recent changes that have taken place within Celestron.
Gary will also talk about some of the new product introductions for 2004:
Starhopper Dobsonians, NexStar 76 GT and 102 GT, two new C6-N Advanced
Series Scopes, VistaPix binoculars, Spotting Scopes, and Accessories
including NexRemote&tm; software. Gary will conclude his presentation by
unveiling the new C20 Astrograph: a complete telescope system featuring a
revolutionary optical design that delivers pinpoint stars across the entire
field. Without a doubt this is the most sophisticated telescope that
Celestron has ever designed and manufactured. More information is available
