OBSERVING BASICS WORKSHOP

If you are new to the hobby and would like to learn more about how to observe the night sky, then this series of talks is for you.

The workshop will be conducted by several experienced amateurs on Friday from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm in the recreation hall.

Topics covered will include:

• what is visible in the night sky,
• how to use star charts to find your way around the sky,
• astronomy software for beginners,
• care and cleaning of optics, and
• observing and photographing lunar eclipses
