STARFEST 1999 Speakers
Doug Cunningham (Quetican Observatory - The Spirit of Beautiful Places) has been an amateur astronomer for over 30 years and is an enthusiastic science and outdoors educator. In 1997 Comet Hale-Bopp did more than simply dazzle millions - it motivated Doug to finally build his Quetican Observatory. Located in Lion's Head on the beautiful Bruce Peninsula, Quetican Observatory permits Doug to share his love of the stars with his students and interested members of the public. Doug will speak about the observatory project, his work with the public, and his future plans to expand the research potential of the observatory by getting involved in CCD or video astronomy.
