MAY 26 Lorenz Observatory Update II
Last weekend, a power line was run to the observatory, three of the four walls were built,
a start was made on the base ring, and some work was done on the base ring support
structure.
Construction will continue the next two weekends come out and lend a hand! [More info]

MAY 22 Lorenz Observatory Update I
Thanks to the hard work of half a dozen members, the posts, pier, and floor of the newest observatory at Oak Heights were put in place over the Victoria Day Weekend. Construction will continue the next three weekends come out and lend a hand! [More info]

MAY 15 Members in SkyNews
Congratulations to Bob Sandness, who won 2nd Place in the SkyNews astrophotography contest (p.8); also to Mark Kaye for his Honourable Mention (p.13). Andreas Gada had a picture of the recent Carribean eclipse published (p.15) plus one of himself with the club's refractor (p.22).

MAY 14 Observatory Re-construction
Work will start on the re-construction of the Lorenz Observatory at Oak Heights this weekend and continue over several weekends. Members, come on out and lend a hand!!! See the meeting list below for dates. More information.

MAY 11 Guiding Eyepiece for Refractor
A Meade illuminated reticle eyepiece (cordless) has been purchased by the club for the club refractor. In combination with the C4 guidescope (also recently purchased by the club), members borrowing the refractor will now no longer need to supply their own guidescope/guiding eyepiece!
