Don Parker

(New Planetary Observing Techniques), is a renowned planetary observer and astrophotographer, who has been interested in astronomy since childhood. In 1954 he did his first systematic Mars observation and has been Mars recorder for ALPO since 1979. Many of his superb planetary images have appeared in Astronomy and Sky and Telescope.

Don will talk about how the new technologies enable amateurs to make observations that are useful to the scientific community, and how these technologies can be used to take planetary images during the day. In addition, Don will give us an update on the Galileo and Mars projects.
