Ivan Semeniuk

(A Beginner's Guide to Astronomical Software; To Explore Strange New Worlds) works at the Ontario Science Centre creating planetarium shows, public education programs, workshops and exhibits about astronomy. In addition, his reports on astronomy news and events appear regularly on the Discovery Channel.

On Friday, Ivan will review some of the popular astronomy software available for PC and MAC based systems, and provide some insight into their effective use.

On Saturday, he will look at the astronomy behind the recent planet discoveries that have enabled scientists to estimate their distances from their parent stars, their masses and even temperatures.
