John Kidner, Perceptor (Telescope Fundamentals), is a Chartered Accountant who in 1982 was able to turn his astronomy hobby into a full-time retail business. Perceptor is an astronomy retail store which carries optical equipment from all major manufacturers for the amateur astronomer.

Today's amateurs have a bewildering selection of telescopes and accessories from which to choose. John will give a brief outline of the advantages and disadvantages of each major telescope design, and will review what's on the market today in various price ranges. He will then offer some down-to-earth advice on selecting the equipment that is right for you, and will answer any questions you may have.
