KIDFEST 2000

This special program is aimed at giving children, and those young at heart, an opportunity to learn about "what's up there." The program will be held on Saturday in the small tent. At this year's Kidfest we will explore galaxies.

THE MILKYWAY GALAXY (Ages 3 - 6)*
The galaxy we live in is only one type of home for billions of stars. Join Susan Engels and discover how our home, the Milkyway galaxy, differs from the many other galaxies that are a part of the endless expanse of space. Crafts and projects after the talk will reinforce the concepts learned.

GALACTIC DIVERSITY (Ages 7 - 9)*
Galaxies, like children, come in all shapes and sizes. Join Ken Davy in an in-depth exploration of galaxies and their diversity. What types and size exist; how does our galaxy compare with the others? Crafts and projects after the talk will review the concepts learned.

WHEN GALAXIES COLLIDE (Ages 10 & up)**
Although the distance between galaxies is immense, the constant war of gravity between them forces some galaxies so close together that they devour one another. In this session, Ken Davy will look at types and sizes of galaxies, and what happens when galaxies collide. There will be fun crafts after the talk.

*  Parent or Guardian attendance mandatory up to the age of 9.
