Rocky Persaud (Exploring the Solar System), is a graduate student at the University of Toronto, mapping features on Mars and developing geological and geophysical models of the Martian subsurface. He was a board member of the Canadian Space Society, former editor of the Canadian Space Gazette, and founder of the Canadian Space Exploration and Development Institute (CSEDI). Currently he is President of the Mars Society Canada, a space advocacy organization focused on Mars as a future destination for human exploration missions and settlement.
The space exploration programs of NASA, the Canadian Space Agency, and the European Space Agency
engage in the scientific study of the planets in our solar system. There are current plans for spacecraft to be sent to Mercury, Mars, Saturn,
Titan, various Asteroids, Pluto and Kuiper Belt Objects. What do we know about these destinations so far? What do we hope to learn? Rocky will present a fun and informative talk about the science of solar system bodies, from remote observations and landed spacecraft.
