Alexi Manis, "The Observatory", Small Tent, Friday 3:30 p.m., is an accomplished filmmaker and a dedicated teacher. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a double major in Drama and Cinema Studies and recently obtained her B.Ed. from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). Her films have screened at festivals around the world, and most recently, her two films The Observatory and The Finite screened at the 2004 Toronto International Film Festival.

Alexi will show and talk about the creation of the The Observatory an animated tour of the deep night sky featuring original sketches made by Jerry Spevak. Galaxies, globular clusters and constellations rise and rotate to the evening sounds of the backcountry.
